Early Girl Tomato

Lycopersicon lycopersicum
"The Tomato Early Girl, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' produces its tasty fruits throughout the summer months. There is no earlier or better tasting tomato plant on the market. The four to six ounce fruits are perfect for slicing or canning. The dark red fruits are produced in abundance. The soil should be well drained and high in organic matter. In warmer regions, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for a harvest in the winter. When watering, the soil should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches. The plants require at least six hours of direct sunlight every day."
